Death's ExodusMC Application
Ingame Name - DeathFromAbove_
Discord - DeathFromAbov3
Age - I am 21 years of age
Timezone - CST (Central Standard Time)
Realm I am applying for - I would preferably like to staff gens, but I am open to staffing any and all realms
Previous Staff Experience - Throughout my almost decade of playing minecraft (man I just made myself feel old) I've had multiple experiences in the past being a staff member on servers and making my way through the rankings on the majority of them. One of my most memorable ones being on VanityMC working my way up to Senior Moderator before deciding to step down from my position in an attempt to create my own project, which unfortunately due to some system administration issues never was able to make it far off the ground. As I stated above I've also had multiple experiences with being any and all staff positions on other servers, most of which I unfortuntely don't remember the names of the networks anymore as I did take a 2 year break from the game but I can assure I am back and ready to help in any way shape or form I can.
Why I want to staff on ExodusMC - Although as I stated in my ticket to Nonphilosophical I am creating yet another project of my own, I have found enjoyment in the network and want to help grow it as a whole in multiple ways. I feel as a player there are only so many ways I can help the network, that being just playing and finding bugs/errors along the way and reporting them as they are stumbled upon and hoping it reaches the right people in order to get it fixed in a timely manner, but I feel as a staff member I can do so much more. I can continue to find bugs and report them in a more direct and effective way, help out and be more trusted by newer players who are seeking potential help learning the gamemodes, server features, etc. and doing my due diligence in keeping the server and its players safe from any sort of potential major or minor issue that pops up along the way.
3 Skills I believe I would have to assist me as a ExodusMC staff member - Well starting out as I stated above I have multiple years of experience in the staffing community, coming from both large networks and small single gamemode servers. I've reached ranks as far as manager, and have been started as helper. Through that I've seen a vast majority of what happens at those ranks and every rank inbetween. Through the experience gained, although taking said break, I still feel I can use said experience to assist me in knowing how to properly help a player, when to be in a formal and serious "mode" as a staff member and when I can relax and have genuine conversations with players, and how to look for things others may not be able to (such as hacks, dupes, bug abuse, etc). My second skill set I have that I believe can help me is less of a "skill set" and more of a personality trait. I am a very kind hearted and patient person and unlike most I will do my best to understand what a player is trying to describe to me, use what I understand to attempt to make what I don't understand more clear with said player and be able to assist said player in the best way possible. My third and final skill I believe to have would be again less of a skill set and more of a personal life matter, but my flexible and very open schedule. A lot of times people apply to become a staff member on a server and can only dedicate a set amount of time and days to said server, where due to my work and personal schedules I have a very flexible and open schedule meaning I can be on at my own free will at a good majority of the day or be able to hop on upon request if I'm not on at that time without causing a disruption in anything I am doing, versus others who may only be able to play for a few hours a day.
3 Weaknesses I believe I have and would like to improve whilst staffing at ExodusMC - One of my major weaknesses is being more of a quiet person. At times this is helpful as I am able to listen into conversations, take in information and use it in ways to help myself and others in the future, but a vast majority of the time it can cause me to miss out on opportunities that could have been taken had I spoke up. Another weakness I feel I have is I'm easily distracted. I could be doing the most important task in the world and I'll have the most random thing pop into my mind and distract myself with it momentarily before getting back on task. Another weakness and easily my most hated weakness I have is I can be forgetful of things, which I have worked my way around with writing things down, taking notes, etc. But I still have tendency to forget things. With that said if I ever ask something to anyone I've already asked the question to before I do apologize in advance.
Servers I currently staff - The only server I currently "staff" would be my own project (stated above) that is currently not released, nor is it close to ready for release as my development team is working on getting it prepared. That being said I have more than enough time to dedicate towards Exodus and becoming a memorable staff member on the team if accepted!
Time I can put into the server - As stated multiple times above, I have a very flexible schedule. The only times I will not be available is 8:00 PM CST to 7:00 AM CST Sunday night to Thursday morning as I work night shift (4 10 hour shifts). Otherwise any other time in between or during the weekend I am I'd say about 85% free.
Additional Information - I'd like to consider myself a very big car person and am heavy into the local car community meaning there are nights I am out and about doing stuff with cars, cruising around town, doing races, etc. that can take some attention away from the server, but not much as I don't tend to go out for hours upon hours on end, and currently my car is getting some work done to it so I haven't been going out as much and dedicating more time towards my computer. Through all my free time I like to do research on things such as features on servers, coding, or other random historical topics I find throughout my night at work and sitting on my phone during my shift.
I'd also like to take time to say thank you for taking the time to read my application and potentially considering adding me to the staff team, it truly is appreciated!
